Searching for Solutions When Life Throws You a Curve

The world we live in today has become increasingly chaotic. Covid-19, loss of jobs, businesses closing, mandates such as staying in place, wearing a mask in public places and the like. These are the thing that push people toward feelings of panic and powerlessness. What have you experienced during the Pandemic? Are you overwhelmed with feelings of panic and powerlessness? Have you found solutions to help people find a workable solution for the issues that they are going through? Those of you reading my blog can offer input. I prefer that it be kept on a positive note. This means when making remarks refrain from name calling and criticizing others. We all have what is called selective perception and view the world through the lens of our life experiences.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Oklahoma so I will address questions that are asked from a point of view of a counselor and my life experiences. I have been licensed since 1996 and currently see clients on a part-time basis. For several years I worked a Military Family Life Counselor and traveled in the United States to various posts and bases. I have found through counseling others that for the most part when a client comes to me with an issue that there is a solution to be found for whatever they are going through.

If you want to ask a question or discuss something that is troubling you, I will help you look for a solution. You may or may not agree with me, but keep in mind when I take the time to give an answer that it was given only as a possible solution. Certainly, life has become more complex. It is still possible to find answers to the many changes that have taken place.

Has you life changed since the Pandemic began in March? If you care to share please do. If you are still searching for solutions in your life due to the Pandemic or issues related to it, please feel free to share.

  1. For some, it is extremely hard to wear a mask everywhere you go. I see people moving slower, some struggling to continue to follow these absurd rules. I’ve always been a rule follower and as a former teacher, I was asked to enforce rules that I didn’t really feel were that important. However, I find myself wanting to leave my mask behind and tell the authorities that I don’t feel like wearing this mask any longer.

    1. I understand what you are saying. Wearing a mask can be tiresome and for some who are asthmatic it can create further problems. For the most part it is about safety for oneself and others. I could be looked at as a matter of making others you come in contact with less fearful.
